Keane’s 1st Birthday

The Birthday Boy!

Mmmm.

At Liberty Park, enjoying the little bit of sunshine outside, while it lasts.

First time swinging.

Has it really been a year? Keane entered the world a year ago today. Wild stuff, eh? Kuei made a nice cake topped with peaches and strawberries and whipped cream, and Keane really liked it. He has a ton of teeth this kid, and one has to watch out when he’s being held or you’re likely to get chomped on. He is toying with the idea of walking, mostly using furniture to get from point A to point B, but when he really wants to cruise, he’ll drop to the ground and crawl like there’s no tomorrow. Look out! Two boys in our house makes it interesting, but it is a lot of fun. We are very glad Keane is part of the family!

Must’ve been a typo - you mean 1 year old right? He’s not growing THAT fast!

Roland has some good gear and they are definately some of the pioneers of digital recording. The Fantom is a good board…depending on what you want to do. I think Roland makes good gear for live performances.

For production work though, everything they make can now be accomplished with a good DAW like Logic (my personal preference) and then manipulated with a good MIDI controller.

I’ve been slowly building my personal studio up over the years, as you know, with my Mac being the foundation. I’ve used both Logic and Pro Tools (the industry standards)…but lately I am looking into Ableton Live for my electronica / trance production.

If you want to build up your studio again, check out this site: Sweetwater . I spend too much time on that site!

    Sheldon:
Logic looks cool, I would need to do more research on it. What I like about the VS-2480DVD is all of the input/output jacks for microphones/live instruments. I really don’t care for house music/tech music much. I prefer the real instruments, but I do think pugins have there place. VS-2480DVD does look a bit complicated so I am open to looking into cheaper alternatives. Besides it will be quite a while before I will be purchasing anything for a home studio. The Fantom-G8 I will have to buy after law school for sure. I love the weighted keys! I grew to hate the xp-50 because of the keys. (Only 64 keys, and didn’t have the piano feel)The fantom G8 looks amazing it has 88 keys! Simply awesome! I have been waiting for them to create this model. I of course would perfer a baby grand above everything, but for a home studio this would be my baby. Pro-tools looks interesting, but again I would need to see how user friendly it is. Who knows by the time I get out of law school and can afford this stuff it will all have better upgrades anyway.:) Thanks for the input.
