Tweaking

You may have noticed Madeofsun.net is undergoing some changes in its design. Thing is, it isn’t quite done yet, so don’t look too closely at the rough edges. I’m still tweaking it, after all. ![]()

It’s so cool that I found your family’s website through Nicole’s blog. Charles fell asleep a while ago so I was looking around different friend’s blogs. Anyway, just want to say I love your pictures and it’s a really nice way to get to know each other’s family deeper. : )
I’m really new to this blog stuff, but it sure is a really good and convenient way to keep family record.
Keep up your good job!
Amber
Hey Amber, glad you found us online. We actually just stumbled onto your site a few days ago too! Everyone has a blog nowadays it seems, right? You and Charles (and Virginia, of course) are welcome any time.
Nice web-blog. I love looking at your pictures. I’m very interested in Photography. May I ask you some questions? What camera do you use (Do u use a regular camera or a D-SLR) and do you use Photoshop to edit your pictures? Sorry to ask all these questions. Keep up the good work!!!!
Hey Monica, welcome to the site. (We love photography too…you’re actually not the first person who’s asked about this…maybe we should put up something in the Links section)…But to answer you questions..Our photos are primarily taken with a Canon PowerShot A640 by Kuei. It is not a DSLR but it’s a good “middle-ground” camera to learn on, having 10 megapixels and some good presets. One thing it lacks is image-stabilization, which is a pain sometimes, but overall we have been happy with it.
We have Photoshop but haven’t used it much for the bulk of our pics, since we upgraded to the Canon. Mostly for minor tweaking, like brightness, etc. If we want to make a high resolution print-out for framing, then we’ll use it to crop a picture or save in a different format and adjust it a bit, but the majority of our pictures on Flickr haven’t been tweaked, and are right off the memory card. (The header images above on the site are an exception, the originals are actually full color photos…but I turned them to a sepia and added a logo in Photoshop).
For minor edits, (like cropping) we use iPhoto, which comes with the Mac’s iLife package. It basically has some of the feature’s in Apple’s Aperture program. Hope that helps!
