Time is Flying

October is here now, and the weather is really changing. Pretty soon snow will be everywhere. But the last couple of weeks in September were fun, with enough sunshine to enjoy Brighton’s birthday outdoors. Can you believe it, he turned 7 ?! Wow is right.

We usually decorate the place with balloons and streamers on birthdays. Hanging streamers takes some time, mind you. They don’t cascade and twist all by themselves. That’s one of the reasons why Kuei keeps me around, after all. So I can hang streamers. Ha. (That, and opening tight lids on jars of strawberry jam). But this year I went for a car wash-esque approach, with dozens of streamers hanging straight down, cut to the same length, from the hallway that leads from his bedroom to the living room. I hung them from the ceiling, in blue and yellow, just at his height, so when he woke in the morning, he’d have to take a swipe at them, moving them aside several times, to finally get into the living room. Brighton thought they were awesome, and pretty funny…Can you imagine him waking up all groggy, and walking through a mess of streamers? Kuei, however, by the second day anyway, wasn’t too thrilled with the idea, and my cool creation quickly became attached to the hallway walls for easy passing…

Anyway, we eventually jumped into our blue box and traveled north to Ogden, to the Dinosaur Park and had a good time. We also went to the Air Force Museum in Roy, where he could climb into airplanes. Brighton sure is growing fast. See MORE PICTURES HERE.
