It looks as though we are going to be moving out of our old unit for good. Still in the same building but just to another level due to the problems with our place after the water situation. Keane and Brighton are pretty glad about it and Kuei and I are thinking it is better than dealing with the mess, but we still have a lot of things to organize and take to the new unit. Then there’s the cleaning of the old place. But change is usually a good thing. We’ve been at our unit downtown all during my undergraduate years and now that graduate school is taking off, might as well change it up with a new place, right? So our utilities and address are in the process of being adjusted. If you’ve tried to call, you’ve probably already noticed something is up. Stay tuned.

Awesome iPhone

The Apple iPhone is sooo tempting. It is going to change the tech industry again. Touchscreen technology and everything. The thing looks pretty slick. OS X in your hand? I love it already. Very cool. June 29th they officially put it up for grabs. Now…being a FT student sure cures you of impulsive purchases. But for me, Apple sure makes it hard to look away! I think I hear my wife’s voice all of the sudden.  ;)

June is already here. Wow. With our interesting living situation at the moment, we have had some trouble updating. Sometimes, you just can’t find a hotspot, you know? [Disclaimer: Geek jargon ahead] I’ve tried using the Jiwire widget but it hasn’t been too helpful. Oh well..

Over the past couple of weeks, however, we have had some notable events. I’ve uploaded a good amount of photos to our Lately set too. But here’s a bit of an update:

two-wheeler

Brighton ditched the training wheels and is now an official two-wheeler. He’s still a bit shaky but once he gets going, he has pretty good control of the bike and can stop himself from falling over. Cool stuff, right? It was pretty neat for me to see him do it too. At first he just wanted me to hold onto the back of the seat. Then I’d let go and he’d coast a few feet before promptly directing his bike toward the grass to crash. But after a while, he got a feel for it, and you could see him working it all out himself. Taking control of the bike. Getting the whole balance thing going, pedaling and keeping the handle bars steady. I was surprised how quickly he got it. I don’t remember riding two-wheels at 6…

keane

I like this picture of Keane. He still isn’t sold on being outside. But I think he’s coming around.

insidekeane

He likes to smile more inside it seems. :)

beesgame

For my Birthday, I went to a SL Bees game in the afternoon with Brighton, and in the evening we all hung out together, grabbed some italian food (Keane slept while we were at the restaurant..yeah!), rented some DVDs, and had some good family time. It was fun.

brighton
Here Brighton is on the Bees kiddie train that circulates the ballpark. We also visited the “Funzone” area where all the kids go when they need to stretch their legs a bit. We did this all during the 3rd or 4rth Inning, so we didn’t miss much of the game.

train

I love Franklin Covey Field. It’s a beautiful ballpark. We were in the Red section, right near third base. It was a great game by the way. We won, so that is always nice. Brighton and I cheered and had a lot of fun. We got there a bit before the game started (2pm) and it was a bit overcast, but an hour or so later, it was blazing down on us. It was great.

talkingtoplayers

Isn’t this picture the coolest? It’s awesome to me seeing Brighton with a bunch of kids leaning over the wall, talking to real baseball players. Trying to get a stray ball. He did get a signature, which is cool.

keane baseball

Here’s Keane in a baseball outfit, all smiles. Now if he were wearing black pinstripes and he lost the red (Go Yankees!) he’d be really stylin’. But he’s a cutie nonetheless. :)
