New Baby Arrives!

We are (again) the proud parents of a healthy baby boy! We brought the MacBook along with the digital camera, but get this–I forgot my USB adapter so I could upload the photos! So check back, we’ll upload the photos when we get a chance. We are in our room here now, taking advantage of the free wireless access, but we thought we’d let you know baby is here.Kuei went into labor about 11:30 pm last night, and after making sure that it was “the real thing,” we called our friends Cora and Alonzo (Thanks guys!), and with their help, we arrived at the hospital a little after midnight. At the hospital, Kuei was about 4+ cm dialated and things progressed pretty quickly from there. We’ll write more about it later, and post the pictures, but here are some specifics:He was born at 4:35 am (the morning of 03.13.07) at 7 lbs 7 ounces, 21 inches long.Update: Mom and Brighton came to visit today with Charles and Amber. Brighton got to see his new brother, and Mom saw her new grandson for the first time. Mom also brought the USB cable, so I could upload these from the camera.
Last-minute preparations & waiting

So we are pretty much just waiting, getting things all ready here for when the baby decides to come. The ward put on a nice baby shower for both Kuei and Nicole a few weeks back (as they are both expecting around the same time) and that has helped a lot, as far as preparations go. Our ward is great by the way.
We wanted to paint a wall or two in the room a cool apple green color or something like that, but that will have to wait till much, much later. Things have just happened so quickly and it is hard to believe that by the next time I post something, it will likely be the announcement of our new baby. Kuei and I are still a bit awestruck over how smooth the pregnancy has been. Still, it is very much new for us, even though we’ve been through this once before.
I’m reminded of that verse in Proverbs that talks about not knowing what a day can bring…very true.
We have the crib ready and all that. Kuei has a “go to the hospital NOW!” bag. It includes a CD with a mix of some of her favorite relaxation music…stuff with Mozart and a few tracks from some of her yoga CDs (ocean waves and stuff like that).
She has the digital camera in there too, but I will probably have to bring along my MacBook to download the photos, as our memory card isn’t large enough (and it’s a bit late in the game to shop online for a cheap 1-2GB card in time).
Met with the doctor the other day and everything is a go. Kuei’s already at 40 weeks. Tonight she had some more contractions but they’re irregular. We are just waiting, but feel that we won’t be waiting too much longer…
Grandma visits

As we wait for the new Baby to arrive, we have Mom staying with us for a while. She flew over the mountain range for us a few days ago and it has been great to have her with us (thanks also for the pickup Charles 
). Brighton has been shadowing her mostly, and is really glad to have Grandma around. The plan is that when Kuei and I head to the hospital, Brighton can sit tight with Grandma without any worries. It’s a real blessing to have family willing to help out right now. Kuei was telling me the other night how lucky Brighton is to have a Grandma like her. I agree. Thanks, Mom!
Almost time…

It’s getting really, really close. We have been guessing which day it will be. March 6, maybe on lucky number 7? Or will the new baby come around the 15th, according to the “official” date? Brighton came about a week early. Kuei acts as though the baby might come early too. Her doctor also thinks that is a big possibility after last week’s visit. We have a name or two we’re toying with. Nothing concrete though. We will have to wait until baby arrives for that definative “yes that is your name” moment.

Hello friends and family from around the globe. We have a new family website. We hope you like visiting here. The new design should allow for more frequent updates, as well as some arrangements with Flickr or Photobucket, so we can share more photos. Our old site, Brightonopolis, has been a great starter site for us, and was a good place where we could share the occasional photo about our son, Brighton, with the grandparents. But it turned into more of a family site and now that we have another baby on the way, we decided it was time to start anew. More information about us and this site can be found here.
